Freeman Branch Library at HCPL hosted a Maker Gallery event where everyone from all ages were encouraged to come to the library and try out different maker equipment including 3D printers, button makers, cricut vinyl cutters, and STEAM toys like magna tiles, power tiles, and a sphero bot! Participants were entered into a raffle to win a tote bag full of prizes made in the library's innovation lab.

Seed Libraries and Gardening Resources
Seed libraries at Harris County Public Library allow the public to borrow seeds for free to grow their own fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Once grown, users can harvest seeds from their plants and donate them back to the library. HCPL also has digital and physical resources to learn about gardening or harvesting and even loans out tools.
The ISS Mimic – a Little Piece of Space at Freeman Branch Library
In partnership with the community, the library has built a small-scale model of the ISS. The model is made of 3D-printed parts, motors, and mini-computers like Raspberry Pi.
