Got Tools?

Over the years, the public library that we have always known has been a place of tools. It is a place where you can use the free services offered, and benefit from the tools at hand.  These handy dandy tools are books, computers, printing services, a place to cool off, a quiet nook to read, and a place to truly learn.

Now at the Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library AKA Little Blue Library, you may not be able to use printing services, but there is another kind of tool you can use; yard tools.  Yes, you heard me right, yard tools.  You can check out more than books, and movies these days.  We have an assortment of very useful gardening tools available for check out to the public.

Anyone with a Harris County Public Library card in good standing can borrow tools from the Baldwin Boettcher Branch.  The tools range in size from small pruners, gloves, and kneeling pads to rakes, shovels, and wheelbarrows. The lending period is 14 days with no renewals They can only be picked up and returned at the Baldwin Boettcher Branch, but if your home branch is another Harris County Library, you can have the staff there place a hold on an available tool for you to pick up at the Baldwin Boettcher Library.   To see the list of tools available, click here.  For details about tool lending and borrowing policies including the borrowing waiver form, visit our Special Equipment FAQ page.
